Purpose

This philosophy dictionary aims to move philosophy beyond a field in which definitions are merely memorized, and instead to establish a foundation for learning how to think philosophically. Concepts are not addressed only through the question “What does this mean?”, but also through “In which context is it used, within which discipline, and for which problem?”. In this way, philosophy is presented not as a static accumulation of historical information, but as a living, functioning, and productive practice of thought.

The dictionary makes visible the conceptual transitions between philosophy and other disciplines such as science, kalām, theology, psychology, sociology, and related fields. It aims to show how the same concept undergoes shifts in meaning across different domains, and where it is used correctly or incorrectly. In this respect, the project seeks to serve both as a reliable reference source for academic research and as a solid intellectual foundation for anyone who wishes to learn, practice, and deepen philosophical thinking.
